Opening
lead: Q
You
should win the club lead with the ace and lead the 4
of spades,
planning to play the jack if West plays low.
The
play of this hand is purely psychological. Missing
an ace, you
tend to play third hand for it, rather than the
opening leader,
because he might have led it to begin with.
On this hand, delaying
the spade play can't help you, so
you might as well lead a spade at
trick two, trying to get
West to go up with the ace if he has
it.
Lead the 4, not the
10. The lead of the 10 might look to West
like a
card you
plan to finesse; it will influence him against rising
with
the
ace.
