One winning line of play was:

Ruff the first trick. Cash your ace-king of diamonds
and ruff a second spade. Lead to the ace of clubs
and ruff a third spade. Then lead the queen of
diamonds, planning to ruff it with the king of
trump. Ruff a fourth spade low in dummy and
ruff dummy's last diamond with your ace of trump.

Good news. At the other table they played 1
making six when South opened 1 and West and
North passed. East later said he was proud of
himself for not balancing!
