Today's hand was played in a Norway bridge
club. Declarer won the diamond lead in hand
and took the heart finesse, followed by the ace
of hearts, discarding a club. Then he led the 2
of hearts, planning to discard his other club,
thereby completing a scissors coup,
preventing East from ever getting on lead
to give his partner a diamond ruff.

Kjell Moen, East, countered by ruffing the
deuce of hearts. Declarer now had no recourse
but to overruff and lead a trump. West went up
with the ace and underled his club honors to
East, who then led a diamond for partner to
ruff -- the setting trick.

Have a nice weekend.
