Years
ago, Drury (2 response
to a third-hand
major-suit opening) showed either support
for
partner's major or a natural
club suit. In more
recent times, it was changed. Most people
today
play that the 2 bid promises support and you
must
make a different bid with clubs. Some would
bid 3 with
today's West hand, some would bid
1NT. Neither of these
bids is particularly appealing.
Consider
playing old-fashioned Drury. Opener's
2 rebid shows a
minimum or subminimum
opening bid, and if responder has
support, he
shows it on the next round.
