When you have bypassed a suit and later you bid it,
it can't be natural, right? The impossible suit is
used to show a super-maximum hand with a fit for
partner's last bid suit. Here 2 cannot show spades,
since East bid 1NT over 1. Therefore, it shows
a super-max with a great club fit. The raise to 3
over 2 would indicate a weaker raise of clubs.

On today's hand, East-West were playing 2-over-1
game forcing, so East began with a forcing notrump.
Over West's 2, the 2 bid got across the super
invitational hand, and then West signed off in 3,
a good stop.
