I
was East and passed 2
without thinking about it. Well, it
paid off as you can see. My partner led a low club to the
7,
ten and king. Back came a club to my ace and the 8
was
won with the king. When declarer exited with a low club I
threw my heart, so the poor guy ended up with one club
and three trump tricks for down five, 1400.
My
tip is this: With a good hand and a misfit, pass partner's
preempt in tempo, especially at favorable vulnerability.
Sometimes they balance into your long suit, and when they
do it makes life worth living.
