Rebid 2, not 2. When deciding whether to rebid a
4-card suit as opposed to your 6-card suit, consider
two factors:

(1) The strength of your hand
(2) The quality of your suits

(1) With a "maximum" minimum hand, like 14-16
points, you usually rebid the 4-card suit, planning
to bid a third time (rebidding your 6-card suit) if
given the chance.

(2) With a 6-card suit that plays OK opposite a
singleton and a real minimum hand, rebid the 6-card
suit. Otherwise, you might find yourself in an awful
contract. On today's example, a rebid of 2 will
probably get 4 from partner (or at least 3).
Also, imagine if North had one less heart and you
got passed out in 2.
