A
popular tournament convention is to play the
same response
structure after a 1NT overcall
as you do after a 1NT opening
bid.
This is a
faulty convention when you make a direct 1NT
overcall,
because you really prefer the opening
bidder, the stronger
opponent,
on opening lead
- he's more likely to lose a trick with his
lead
than
his partner, who is leading up to him.
After
a direct 1NT overcall, play:

of a new suit = natural to play
cuebid
= Stayman
3
of a new suit = invitational
On
today's hand, your partner can score 90 in
1NT, but you
have 130
available in a club partscore.
