102 - BIDDING WITH PAUL SOLOWAY - $39
LEVEL: BEGINNER

This course explains how to bid a bridge hand, starting with the basic concepts and developing into bidding sequences with your partner. Paul Soloway, one of our all-time great players, uses the point-count method and the most popular Standard American system, but tempers it with bidding judgment.

Where are your highcard points? Are they good points or bad points? How does the auction change the value of your hand? By the conclusion of the course, the student should be able to sit at the bridge table with any partner and bid with proficiency. This is another excellent refresher course.

Teukolsky, a high school math teacher and bridge columnist, teaches the student how to make order out of chaos by focusing on the goal: to make the contract.

How can you do it? What is your opening lead? How do you plan your defense while looking only at your hand and the dummy? London's David Huggett presents a step-by-step guide to the practical concepts for defenders at the bridge table.
