What is your call?

With the proliferation of weak two-bids these days, it pays to have a bid in your arsenal to show shortness in the opponent's suit.

Many play "System On" after partner overcalls with a natural 1NT or 2NT. This means that you use the same system after the overcall as you would after an opening 1NT or 2NT.

One addition to "System On" is a transfer to their long suit. This shows shortness, to be followed by your long suit. Thus South's 3 was a transfer to hearts, showing short hearts. The subsequent 4 bid was natural. Opener, with golden cards, took two cuebids, and South, with solid diamonds, bid the slam.

The slam is made on a number of different lines of play: (1) a dummy reversal, (2) a losing finesse in clubs followed by a squeeze on West in hearts and clubs, or (3) simply playing ace of clubs and 3 of clubs toward your hand.
