If
you ruff and start to draw trumps, you will probably make
the hand if
spades and hearts behave, but that's not likely
after the double. Try a
crossruff instead.
Ruff
the diamond lead.
Cash the ace of spades.
Cash the king of spades, throwing a club.
Cash the queen of spades, throwing a club.
Lead a club to the king.
Ruff a diamond.
Cash the ace of clubs.
Ruff the jack of clubs.
Ruff a diamond.
Lead a spade. West ruffs in with the 10 of hearts, but must lead
into your A-Q
of hearts and you make an overtrick!
Which
player do you choose to marry?
West doubled 4 so
you don't choose him, a real macho loser. East
failed to double
partner's 2 bid
for the lead - he's not on the ball, so
you eliminate him as well.
That leaves North, who provided a fairly nice
dummy. Well, why
not?
