When I was East, playing with Eddie Kantar, I played
low at trick one, thinking, Wait til I tell Mathe about
Kantar's trump lead
(as readers know by now, the
late Lew Mathe hated trump leads). Declarer finessed
in hearts and I won the king. I wanted him to finesse
hearts again. Then I switched to the Q. This won
and I continued diamonds. Declarer finessed hearts
again, so I was able to win the Q and play a third
diamond, ruffed in dummy with the spade ace. Well,
my queen of trump returned from the dead. Down one.

My tips: (1) Never give up by conceding your trump
honor if you can still hang on to it. (2) It doesn't hurt
to falsecard declarer when he could use a little push
in the wrong direction.
