I
was North on this hand and jumped to 4
over my
partner's 2 .
I wanted to get the big trump fit off my
chest. A 3
bid would simply be a preference. But I
held four good trumps and a singleton.
It
was a pretty good slam, but it went down one,
because all the finesses were off. Never mind.
You're not supposed to judge contracts by their
result -- only by their potential. I'd want to be
in 6
any day of the week for any amount of
money. Most of the time we would go plus 1370,
instead of minus 100.
My
tip: When you have a nice fit with partner, let
him know about it ASAP.
