Lead the jack or ten, letting it ride. If it wins, lead
the other honor. This line of play is successful when
the suit is divided 3-2 or 2-3 and the king is with
West. It also succeeds when East holds the
singleton 8 or 9. You can later finesse against
the other spot card.

feel bad. The odds
are 2-to-1 that the
8 or 9 is singleton
rather than the
king singleton.
