You should cash the king and lead to the ace. Your sole
concern

a 4-2 split,
with West
holding four of them and East
holding a doubleton.
When
you lead toward the ace, assume East has one
card left.
The
queen, jack and a spot card are missing,
so East's
remaining card is
likely to be the queen or
the jack.
