the real life hand, 3NT was the winning action.

tricks
were available in clubs, and West
had to lead a diamond to
defeat
3NT, which was
not very likely. (East wins the diamond lead
and

the Q; West must overtake, cash the other
heart honor and
lead
another diamond.)
