Contrary to popular belief, the correct rebid with
the West
hand is
2. The primary purpose of
constructive bidding is to reach
games or
slams,
especially 3NT from the right side of the table.
Notice
on
today's example, 3NT is a much better
contract declared by
East, with
the lead coming
from the South hand.
Take
away East's ace-queen of clubs, and even
a 2 contract
in a 4-3
fit is better than 1NT.
Change the king-jack of hearts to
the
king-jack
of clubs in the West hand, and then a 1NT rebid
is
preferable. Don't be a robot - judge your cards.
