What would you call in first position, with the North hand?

If you open at a low level, East may double and West forces to a minor-suit game. Five diamonds might go down if South gives North a club ruff, but your side will probably take the push to five hearts, down one.

If you open four hearts, as two players did in a Bridge Today All-Star Game, you wipe out the opponents and score 420.

An opening four-heart bid may look a bit strange, but check out how you do facing any of the other three hands. North has a chance to make four hearts with any of them!
